NDA (National Defence Academy) Entrance Exam

  • Mathematics: Concept of a set, operations on sets, Venn diagrams, types of matrices, operations on matrices, the determinant of a matrix, trigonometrical ratios, trigonometric identities sum and difference formulae, distance formula. the equation of a line in various forms, angle between two lines, the distance of a point from a line, the equation of a circle in standard and in general form, composite functions, one to one, onto and inverse functions, the notion of limit, standard limits, etc.

    GAT (General Aptitude Test) :

    1. English: Vocabulary, grammar and usage, comprehension and cohesion in extended text to test the candidate’s proficiency in English. It tests the candidate’s understanding of English and the use of words.

    2. General Knowledge: This section contains topics from the physics, chemistry, general science, geography, current events, history, freedom movement, etc.

    Exam Pattern : 

    1. Exam Duration: 
    The duration of the examination will be 2 hours 30 minutes.

    2. Type of Question: The question paper will be objective type questions.

    3. Paper: The NDA exam consists of 2 papers i.e. Mathematics and General Ability.

    4. Total Marks: The Mathematics paper contains 300 marks while General Ability test holds 600 marks. The written test will be of total 900 marks.

    5. Negative Marking: For every incorrect response, 0.33 marks will be deducted as negative marking in the examination.

    6. SSB Interview: After clearing the written test, candidates have to go through the SSB Interview. The interview process will have total 900 marks.
